Ahhh, Another Snow Day

The best thing about snow days is the Sleeping in!!

A good sleep in is one of those things you never really appreciate until it's just about over. Just as you’re about to get out of bed everything is perfectly perfect and you just wish for a few more minutes to stay in bed. There are a few requirements needed for a great sleep in. Most importantly are the right blankets and PJs. You have to be swimming in ‘comfy’. The lighting in the room should be dim, almost non-existent; just enough so that if your eyes open by complete accident... you can still roll over and go back to sleep.

It starts with blankets, just enough so that you are toasty, not sweating... who likes to wake up sweaty... gross. Ok so the temperature is set as a comfy level, and you are sleeping comfortably. I personally like to have my puff (comforter, but it’s puffy so I call it a puff) all bunched up around my chest and neck. Not suffocating me but blocking out all areas that cold could try to come in. I’m also a big fan of pillows, one or two behind my head, one I can hug, and a few to prop my feet up with, the feet pillows are optional.

Sigh! A good sleep in is something that everyday should start with. ok now that that is over we can move onto other more important things. David and I are seriously looking into buying a house... I’d like it to be the sooner the better.

There are a few houses we are looking into. One of them is a cute bungalow. It’s in Princton heights, a very nice subdivision. It’s close to our friend’s house, and still in town with out having to be in a dumpy part of town. There are 3 bdrm and a small bath, but a 2nd bath was started and never finished in the basement. It needs some work (Windows and maybe siding in the next 5 years), but is going for a GREAT, GREAT price. I wouldn’t mind fixing it up because then it’d be more like ‘my’ house. Any house we buy won’t be completely ‘my’ house... but if we get one with and un finished basement, and a few things to work on, then we can make it Just the Way We Want...

There is another house, a split entry it’s out of town, not very far but it’d be a 7 min drive in at least. It’s a 9-year-old house, with a great yard. It’s nice, but it’s about 20ish thousand dollars more than the first house... so it’s newer but more... seems that’s how it works. Aha.

So If anyone out there has a house that they want to sell us pretty cheap- - just let me know!!

Ev'y's Coming in 7 days!!!! YEAH oh man!! I can't Wait

  1. Hey Shan!
That's so exciting that you're looking into buying a house! Don't you feel old? Man, we're all growing up and doing adult things. What's that about.

The first house is cuter, and you can always renovate. (But it might just be cuter because there's green grass and sun...)

    Anyway, love you!

  2. I like the first one best. but I never really like split entries.

and I think you can add on to bungalows easier than the other, but I'm not sure.

It would be so much fun to renovate too! can you imagine! owning a house!!

    (I can't even imagine owning a car!)

I'm going back to AL in feb, and permanently at the end of march. I'm done with adventure for a while :)

  3. Well, it never hurts to start small.
Buying a house is one of the most important things you can do, in my opinion.

  4. Shannon are you pregnant? Cause it seems like such a sudden urgency for buying a house...and I remember you saying that you wouldn't want to raise kids in an apartment. :P
